38 weeks...she'll be here in less than a month!!

How's momma feeling: Going strong...don't really feel like I'll be having a baby in just a few weeks...amazing! I'm just so curious what birth is going to be like for me this first time. We hired a replacement for my maternity leave, and she started this past Monday. I'm so glad we found someone so quickly. She's a GREAT fit, and I'm happy to pass things off to her. Now that I have back-up, I'm ready to start working less (or even my normal hours) so that I can be home more in afternoon/evenings. We'll see!
Size of baby: Our 38 week appointment went great! I'm measuring 36 cm...she has worked her way down quite a bit the doctor said (saw a Dr. this week; the midwives were booked)...good job, baby!! Her heart beat was 130. She's still moving lots...love it! She's probably around 7 lbs. now!!  She moves from side to side throughout the day, and her movements are more rumbles than poke or kicks. You can usually tell which side she is on because one side of my stomach will be taller than the other or a section will bulge out. We love it!
Cravings: Grilled cheese has been a favorite in the past few weeks...I think I like the butter and the cheese!! My appetite is not as grand as it was...my stomach must be smooshed in there.

Aversions: Squishy stuff...we had a Thai tasting this week at work...the spring roll and eggplant were difficult for me choke down. In fact, I wasn't able to swallow all of it. It makes me want to gag just thinking about it (sorry...TMI). Brushing my teeth is still hard at times still, too!
Sleep: Sleeping so well and
loving it! I use to love blankets but not so much during pregnancy. I fine with just my pillows;).

Clothes: Trying to wear some of the things I haven't worn in awhile...trying at least. Also making sure I enjoy wearing the items that I got for my "bigger" weeks...cause you never know when she might come...want to get the most of my clothes:).

Exercise: Still able to walk a mile uphill to the car after work. Still able to work out at the gym and do my videos...sooooooooooooooo grateful! Stretching is a bit more entertaining than it use to be since my belly sticks out a bit more than before:), but we're still able to get a good stretch in!
Looking forward to: Wrapping up things at work so that I can be at home a little bit more before she comes. I also am looking forward to sharing the job with Tom of welcoming her into this world...I just can't imagine what that will be like.

Something fun: One of my friends came over on Thursday to do some apple baking!! We picked apples from the trees in the back yard and made 3 apple pies!! YUM! It was nice to catch up and have some girl time. She also (FINALLY) got to see/feel our little one moving all around...special!
We also got to go to a couple's house from church last Sunday for Sunday lunch. WOW was the food good and the fellowship special. We had a great time. It was nice to get to know them and the others at lunch a bit better.
Tom and I headed to Syracuse after that to go to Babies-R-Us and the mall (to look for shoes for him...no luck). It was a nice Sunday!FYI: We had a great time with our friend from PA!! It was such a blessing to have her come and visit. It meant so much. We went for a walk, had dinner, picked Tom up from school, and then went to Ithaca Bakery for our tea/scone date (she got a lemon bar, and I got a chocolate chip cookie...close enough to a scone)!! It was just so nice to catch up and to spend some time together.
We are getting a new stove/oven! WOOHOO! A place nearby is going out of business, so our landlord bought us a new one...installation is to happen on Oct. 16th...we'll see how that one goes not knowing when baby will come.
We had our last birthing class last Sunday night. Our instructor came to our place to do a one-on-two so that Tom could be there (his rotation over the past 4 weeks has not allowed him to be able to attend on Thursday nights). We were able to "practice" labor, going through everything we had learned. It was very helpful to put it all together!
We had our last mentoring class last Saturday. Tom got to go!! We practiced bathing a baby and also reviewed the 5 S's. Grateful for those sessions and the relationships formed due to them.
I bought a Bumbo off of a local lady from Craigslist this week...we met to exchange, and I was really encouraged by our conversation. It was just cool to connect within just a few minutes of time.
Thank you, Lord, for: Finding someone to cover for me at work...and such a great fit! I'm so grateful. For supportive friends (who live just down the road) that come to visit and check in and are so excited for us! For family who sends us encouragement, checks in, and joins us in anticipating the special day! For FALL...for pumpkins and apples and all that goes with it...I just love this time of the year!!
