12 weeks old!!

Using those hands!
One of her cow toys, Caleb (as I like to call him)...not sure why this picture keeps showing up in the wrong direction)
Growling? Wanting to eat him? Not sure!? She's been doing both lately:).

I must say...I love baby jeans! So cute!
Ruthie has been enjoying sitting up even more recently.

12 weeks!! (P.S. Those are bloomers...They look a little funny, so I thought I should explain:))

Reading with Mommy (gotta love the book!!). Excuse the laundry around the couch. I was in the middle of folding:).
Ruthie zonked out while being carried around by Daddy while on the phone...:)

Week 11

Size: Won't have an update on this for awhile.
New things: Hands in the mouth LOTS more! I think she's beginning to use them to help self soothe a little!

Opening her mouth to take her Vitamin D as opposed to us having to hold the syringe up to her gums for a bit before she would open up.
Cloth diapers! We are almost out of disposables, so we made the switch and have been using the disposables at night.
Using her hands to get what she wants...whether it's touching toys, getting them closer to her mouth, or actually putting them in her mouth. She hasn't completely discovered how to use them, but she is really working hard at it. It's fun to watch her concentrate, work hard at it, and discover with each step forward.
We're working on rolling over, too, and she's making progress!
Fun things: We got to go over to some friends' house for dinner last week, and Ruthie did a great job sleeping there! Yay, Ruthie!
We got to go walk around the mall with some friends this week! It's nice to have a place to walk that's so close since it's cold outside.
Ruthie loves: Eating all her toys.
Staring at people.
She still loves her Christmas tree. If she's fussing in the evening, we'll turn it on for her, and she'll calm down and sigh...we've determined it is our second most valuable possession next to the swing.
Reading book while on her changing table.
Funny faces and weird noises.
Sleep: Ruthie is doing awesome. She still gets up consistently (around the same times) each night but goes back to bed easily (we don't have to get out of bed at all). We are getting good sleep and enjoying the consistency. We've been doing a bed time routine for quite a few weeks now. Ruthie is also putting herself to sleep more during her naps. She'll protest a little and drift off to sleep. We're so proud of her!
Mom and Dad: Ruthie has gotten to spend time with her daddy around breakfast time (we're waking up earlier nowadays)! That's been nice!!
Still learning lots and working as a team. Thank you, Lord, for: How amazing our bodies and minds are...it's just so cool to watch Ruthie discover and learn how to do things. It truly is a miracle that we develop how we do. I can't imagine what is going on in that little brain of hers; what an amazing process worthy of His praise.

11 weeks!!

Ruthie loves Sophie!

Ruthie loves to drool:)

She also loves this water bottle!

She's finding her hands!
Oh and this water bottle, too! She will watch them like a hawk!
Eating breakfast with Daddy!
Wearing the headband Aunt Maddy made!

She loves putting her hands in her mouth more than ever now!
11 weeks old!!

We're still working on "look at the camera"...

10 weeks old!!

Size: Probably more than 11 lb. 7 oz. :) Her thunder thighs are getting bigger, too!
New things: Almost laughing...I found her "sweet spot" (so to speak), and I can get a little laugh out of her when I tickle her. It's so cute!!

She making a new noise when talking (kind of like the sound one makes when rolling the double "r" in Spanish). She likes it when we make that sound as well!
She's been trying to put her toys in her mouth. I've given her some of her frozen teething toys to put in her mouth. She doesn't seem to mind the cold.
We've been introducing lots of textures...I guess that's what they're interested in at this age?! :)
Fun things: Ruthie got to meet her Uncle Ben and older cousin Ben this week for the first time. She also got to see her Grandpa Cully again! They came to visit for a day. Ben and Ruthie had fun playing together. She really likes her big cousin!
Ruthie got to play with a 7-month-old this week. Ruthie was quite fascinated with looking at her and listening to her. It was funny as she rather perked up when the company came over...maybe she'll be a social butterfly:).
I've been trying to dress Ruthie in more outfits rather than just her jammies. It's kind of fun!
She's still doing lots of kicking...so cute!
Ruthie loves: Being carried in the Ergo carrier on mommy's back (also a new thing).
Blowing bubbles and drooling:).

Listening to worship music.
Her books with pictures of real animals.
One of her cow toys that I named Miguel...(the tag had an English side and a Spanish side, so I named him Miguel which I guess makes him a bull not a cow:)). I have it hooked up near her changing table, and his tummy crinkles. She likes it!
Sleep: Ruthie has had some really good nights in the last week. She isn't wanting to stay up as late and, therefore, is going down for bedtime sooner. Last night she only woke up once!! Yay, Ruthie!
New Year's Eve, though, Ruthie wanted to stay up until midnight with us...she must have known it was appropriate to do so on such a night! Mom and Dad: We had so much fun sharing her with family again this week. Tom had to start back to clinics this week. I think Ruthie knows something is different. When he came home today, she loved just being in his arms for the evening. She stayed awake longer than she normally does around that time. I think she missed him! We had people over for dinner for the first time in quite awhile. It felt nice to entertain again and to be into the groove well enough to do so!
Thank you, Lord, for: That Ruthie has been doing so well with her sleep this week! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you for time with our family this week as well!
