Yes...this means a potential birthday, Christmas, or New Year's baby...or none of the above. He or she will come when it's time, and we'll welcome him/her with joyful hearts!
Early pregnancy thoughts...
WEEK 6
Weird, vivid dreams
Fatigue late morning to early afternoon
More potty breaks:)
Sleeping more restlessly
Memory waning
Harder to concentrate on conversations
Need lots of water and lots of protein
I feel like I can't suck in my stomach; like there's something there:)
WEEK 7
All day sickness started…sometimes it goes away, but it’s pretty constant. Not throwing up.
I have that (same as when I was pregnant with Ruth) weird taste in my mouth.
Nothing sounds good (not even junk food...weird, for me, I know!).
I seem to be sleeping better.
I took a couple of naps this weekend…felt good…I don’t sleep long, but the fact that I’m sleeping and not for long shows me I need it.
My dreams have still been somewhat weird but not as vivid, I don’t think.
We shared with Ruth this week...
When Tom mentioned in about 7 months, we’d have a new baby, she said “aww” (it was the word “baby” that triggered this response). Then she kept trying to look into my belly (particularly through my belly button) and at Tom’s stomach, too. It was really cute. She still says she wants a brother and a sister…we’ll see!
WEEK 8
WEEK 10
1st APPOINTMENT:
Got to see our baby this week….at our 1st appointment on 6/1/15 (right at 10 weeks).
The hospital we will deliver at is about 35-40 minutes away. Thankfully, the doctor we are seeing comes to our town once a week to see patients. That means, I won't have to make that drive for all the smaller appointments. Grateful for this!
Also...mid-wives are not as common out here as they were in NY. It's interesting to experience having another baby is a different state. It's kind of fun to compare and surprising sometimes, too.
WEEK 8
I’m allowing myself to sleep until I wake up.
I’m trying to do more muscle-toning type workouts instead of cardio…lack of energy and not feeling well.
I had McDonald's this week...twice in one night. I get in my head what sounds good, and I have to have it. Only specific things sound good, and I'm just famished. Hunger makes me more nauseous! Don't remember having that with Ruth. I can EAT!
Had a day where I felt "real sick"...weak and just not feeling well...like spent a good chunk of the day on the couch. Ruth was a trooper.
My workouts started to wane at the end of this week.
Sometimes I feel like my brain is just "not here".
Want to be able to take Ruth outside more that it's starting to warm up...not feeling well enough. Soon!
WEEK 9:
Workouts...Once I’m doing them, I feel fine, but it’s hard to find the
motivation when I feel sick and weak.
Water…there are days when it’s easier to get down. It just
doesn’t taste good…especially luke warm water. I’ve been using ice…helps a lot!
Food….lasagna sounded good last night…my mom’s that is, so I
went to the store after nap time and bought the ingredients for such! I
wouldn’t say it “hit the spot”, but it tasted ok. I’m grateful. I ate as much as I wanted…I just needed
something “decent” and protein filled.
I haven’t been needing naps as much…maybe because I’m
allowing myself to sleep in. I mean, I can be tired and not feeling well in the
afternoon, but I’m not so exhausted that I NEED a nap like previous weeks.
I’m not getting up to go to the bathroom as much during the night.
I woke up in the middle of the night one night this week feeling sick.
My mom’s lasagna with cheesy garlic bread is sounding ok this
week…as well as…Mint Milano cookies! Yes...I definitely bought a bag!
I’m getting like 10 hours of sleep a night…crazy, but it’s
so easy for me to fall asleep and to fall back asleep in the morning after
getting up to go to the bathroom (around when Tom gets up).
I got a fish dinner from a local place last night. Sounded good. I don’t have
anything in the house right now to make that sounds good. Time for the grocery!
Gagging reflexes kicked in more this week…harder to take
vitamins….harder to brush my teeth. Can’t leave my toothbrush in my mouth for very
long. It's also harder to clean my back teeth without wanting to gag.
The smell or thought of canned soup….ugh! Maybe because I had it in the beginning?
Regular clothes are still fitting.
I don’t feel as nauseous…but food is still weird;
sometimes are worse than others.
Feeling hungry is not a good feeling. When I’m hungry, I feel sick.
Haven’t been feeling that tired…even if I get up a little
earlier…sometimes it’s been hard to sleep in after Tom goes to work…especially
if I get up to go to the bathroom.
Brushing my teeth is harder now.

Tom and the doctor got to see the heartbeat on the little ultrasound monitor (It wasn't facing me at the time)! THANK YOU,
Lord!
We
are grateful for a healthy baby! Glad to share that special first appointment with both Tom and Ruth! She did well considering our appointment was about 3 hours (had to get labs, too).
Here's our little peanut! |
10 weeks! |
WEEK 11
I’m grateful I’ve been able to workout more diligently these last 2 weeks! Working out helps me feel better. Plus, I drink more
water when I do!
I am still hungry!!! and need a lot of food!!! It's crazy!
Yay for National Doughnut Day this week. They’ve been sounding
good!
Had a double cheeseburger on a visit to a zoo up in MI with some friends this week...I could have eaten 2 more of them!
My mom and sister arrived for a visit this week, and we got to share the news in person with them:). It was hard hiding my "bump" until Tom got home from work...wanted to tell them when we were all together.
I threw up for first time this pregnancy this week...TMI? Sorry!
WEEK 12
My mom and sister were here this week, and my mom cooked for us and made some freezer meals (thank you!)...will help us make it through the rest of the nausea.
Got a few new pregnancy outfits/shirts...more early pregnancy/summery ones....fun!

We went to a cupcakery this week...a cupcake didn't even sound good.
Our local ice cream place's ice cream doesn't sound good.
We got to share with rest of our families via phone this week!

I feel like I’m sleeping better this week.
I get up to go to the bathroom in the night. I still have to snack occasionally, too. I have
learned that if I’m remotely hungry when I go to bed, I need to go ahead and
have a snack because it’s just going to get worse as the night goes on.
Funny how some things taste so good at one point in the day and not so hot later on.

My mom and sister definitely think I'm showing...
