Size: ??
New things: Ruth has
started cuddling with one of her calves and some of her other toys. It’s so
cute!
She now takes a drink of
her water and goes “ah”….and takes a drink just so she can make the noise!
Daddy taught her this:).
“Mama” definitely has
meaning now!
Ruth’s walking has REALLY
picked up this week! She’s now walking a ton. Before, she was still crawling as
her major form of getting around, but now it’s definitely walking! It changed
so fast!
Ruth started putting her
finger up her nose this week…what? They start that this young…and a girl? I
guess so! Wasn’t expecting that this early!! Ha!
Ruth tries to snap her
fingers. She enjoys watching others do this activity.
Aunt Payge taught Ruth to
put her hands up in the air and say "taadaa”. She can do it…it’s cute!
Ruth says “Mama” in her
crib after she wakes up (or sometimes before she falls asleep). Meaning! Yay!
Ruth has been doing this
for a bit, but she can kick a ball. She does pretty well at it. She’s able to
balance well enough while standing….future soccer player?!?
Ruth can say “Payge” (in
her own way). It’s more like “ge”. It’s cute!
Ruth can say “Pumpkin”. It’s
more like “pum”; sometimes, it sounds more like “pumpkin”, but she consistently
refers to them as “pums”.
I asked Ruth this week if
she wanted to go watch Daddy play basketball, and she seemed to know what that
meant. I believe she repeated it more than once, and then said it once we got
to the gym, so we went in to watch for awhile since she knew what was going
on!! Wanted to make that a reality for her since she was making the connection.
Ruth is not only walking
LOTS but can walk in a non-straight line.
Ruth is following
instructions well (i.e. Putting Chewy back in bed, putting trash in trashcan,
putting blocks in the bucket).
Ruth can make a “1” with
her finger:)…soon it will be really helpful!!
Ruth tries to make a cork
pop sound with her finger in her mouth. It’s super cute, and she really wants
to be able to do it!
I’m not sure if it started
this week or if she’s been doing it, but Ruth can now pretend! She pretends to
feed her cows…hay, water, carrots. It’s super cute and fun to see her using her
imagination!!
Fun things: Tom and Ruth
went to “Cider Fest” at a local library this week. They got to watch them make
apple cider (or more like apple juice) and got to try some. Tom said it was
pretty low key, but they had fun together. Tom said Ruth said my name (Mama
that is) while they were gone…she does know what it means! Yay!
My parents and sister came this weekend! The goal was that they could watch Ruth, and I could get caught up on some things. I definitely made progress, and Ruth had a great time with them! Tom got some things done, too (besides work:). They took Ruth to a pumpkin patch and another little petting zoo or something like that. They also just enjoyed some great play time at home. We’re grateful for their help!
Ruth loves: Candy corn. I
put out fall décor this week which involved a table decoration with a place for
candy…I didn’t even think about her seeing/wanting it (or understanding what it
was). But oh yes, she knows, and she wants it! Sometimes I’ll hide it on the
chair to distract her…only problem is, I’ve forgotten to put it back…and being
on the chair leaves it right at her level:) (enough said?).
Holding our hands in the
van. Perhaps it’s just when she’s tired, but it seems comforting to her. It’s interesting
because she hasn’t been the most cuddly, snuggly little one (which is
completely ok), but she seems to be enjoying the closeness recently. We like it:).
Ruth has enjoyed these for
awhile, but she really is fascinated with the lights in the stairwell. When we
start down the stairs, she’ll look up at the light and point or make noise. Not
sure why or how she exactly discovered that they were up there, but she likes
them!!
Mail! Checking it,
receiving it, holding it! I’ve probably said it before, but I’ll say it again!!
I think I’ve said this
before, but Ruth loves Chapstick! I had mentioned it one day to her when we
were in Tom and I’s room. Once I said it, she started smacking her lips and
came around the bed to get some! Haha!
Sleep: Must be doing aok
because I don’t have any notes for this week. Although, if I’m remembering
correctly, it’s hard knowing if she’ll take one or two naps on any given day.
Some days, she seems tired in the morning, and other days, she doesn’t. Maybe
she’s on the fence right now between one and two. Seems like she goes back and
forth between one and two.
Tom and I: I started a
Jazzercise class this week! It’s in a couple towns over, so it’s a little bit of
a drive (no horrible), but there was a deal for a trial period, so I thought I’d
try it out and use it as an opportunity to get out and meet new people. My
sister went to one class with me, too, and it was fun to have her there with
me.
Tom and I got to go on a
date this week!! We tried out a supper club for the first time and
unfortunately, didn’t have the best experience. Our favorite thing was the
croutonsJ. Maybe next time?! We’re just grateful for the opportunity we
had to go out together! It was fun!
Thank you, Lord, for: Family
coming to help with Ruth and just to see Ruth with them! We’re grateful for the
shorter distance than what we used to have!
