Weeks 29

Size: Nothing new on Ruth's size for this week.

New things:  Ruth got her 5th tooth and later her 6th tooth this week. Her mouth is becoming quite dangerous!
Ruth started clapping this week. Yay! Just in time for Daddy's graduation. We've been working on it. We'll see if she does it on the big day, though:).
She has started "hitting/banging" her back against whatever she is leaning up against (such as her highchair or whomever is holding her). It's funny.
Ruth has been a bit more fussy when going to other people recently which is definitely out of character for her. Not sure if this is beginning stages of separation anxiety or just the result of lots of changes going on right now. We'll see.
Fun things: We had a couple of play dates this week. Ruth got to play with some new toys which she quite enjoyed. This also lent to being around a couple of dogs which she also enjoyed very much. She's really quite intrigued by dogs, especially little dogs it seems.
A week of ice cream:)
We went to the CU Dairy Bar (which was my first time); I wanted to make sure I got to try it before we left the area. That was cutting it pretty close and the long wait was worth it:). I'm always willing to wait for ice cream.
We went with some of our friends to our favorite ice cream joint - Toads Too!! We had to make sure we introduced them to it before we moved. It's a sure treasure:). It was fun, and Ruth really enjoyed the company and the ice cream.
We went over to some friends for dinner (again, another "before you move" kind of thing). We had a lovely dinner and good laughs. Plus...brownies and ice cream for dessert!! What a great week:).
We focused on the letter "M" this week.
Ruth loves: Ruth enjoys it when you "bonk" your forehead against hers.
Ruth seems to enjoy our walks outside; she LOVES being outside!!
Kids!! She LOVES kids! She spotted a couple kids while we were in line at the Dairy Bar, and she got excited and started squealing and flapping. It's amazing to me that little ones can somehow identify kids from adults. She is just drawn to them. It's really interesting.
Ruth has been quite interested in tongues and teethe recently. She'll just stare at one's mouth for awhile with a curious and intense look on her face. I think she's trying to figure out how she can play with them:).
Sleep: Ruth has been waking up when we remove her car seat from the car or sometimes even when we open her door. Since we've been using Tom's truck, we haven't been using the base of the car seat which makes putting her in and out much easier. This just leads to shortened/interrupted naps.
Mom and Dad: Congratulations, Tom! You are officially done with vet school!! His last day was Friday...can't believe it! We celebrated with a little Sarah's Patisserie (had a gift card to use up:)).
Some of our friends came over to play with Ruth a few times this week so that I could get a few things done. It was so helpful! Ruth, of course, enjoyed the company and attention. I also was able to go to the gym at CU...again, only have that perk for about another week. It was nice to be able to do that.
We had a yard sale this week. We teamed with some of our fellow vet school friends and had it at our place. It started off slow but picked up quite a bit and was definitely worth our time. We were all quite eager to get rid of stuff, so it worked out great. It was helpful to just get stuff cleared out of our apartment so the packing could continue.
Some of our dear friends let us borrow their car this week. Those few extra days with a car really helped me get a few things checked off my list that I'm not sure how I would've gotten done otherwise. THANK YOU!!!
On Saturday of this week, Tom went to pick up our new van!!!! Woohoo!!! Not gonna lie, it was a little sad to say good-bye to our car. We really liked that car, but it is important to have a reliable vehicle especially with a little one. Didn't necessarily see ourselves with a van (especially at this age), but we got a good deal! It'll take some getting use to, but I think it'll grow on us.
Thank you, Lord, for: For a borrowed car this week! That helped so so much!! We are also grateful to finally have a vehicle...before we move!!
