How's momma feeling: Still feeling great! I have enough energy at work, for the gym, and then for home (dinner and maybe a couple quick tasks), but once I sit down for dinner, that's when I don't want to do anything else. Once I stop, I usually want to stop for good. I feel like this week or maybe even last week I really started to look "big" pregnant. Not sure what that means, but I'm definitely looking like I'm pregnant now...it's kind of fun, but then I also wonder "how big am I going to get?" I also still have my balance and no "puffiness" yet - GRATEFUL for this!
Size of baby: Baby Girl Cully is around 16-18 inches long and about 3 1/3 pounds (about the size of a coconut or pineapple)! Her five senses are developed, and she can move her head from side to side.
Cravings: None this week, but I was really looking forward to the chip dip I made for a birthday this week:). It was yummy!
Aversions: Nothing this week.
Sleep: I had a couple good nights of sleep and a couple that weren't so great. None that were awful. I just seem to want to sleep on my back these days so fighting that during the night can sometimes keep me "up". I did wake up the other night and smelled the ribs that I had cooking in the crock pot Once that smell got to me, I became extremely hungry. I decided to get up and have some cereal at 4:20 in the morning. It was a nice treat and pretty funny.
Clothes: I went to a store I've known about for awhile a few weeks ago, "Mama Goose". Why did I not check out this place before?? It's awesome! They have used maternity and baby/kid stuff. I got a few new "3rd trimester" shirts as more of my shirts just aren't fitting quite as they should over my expanding belly. I also pulled out a few more items that my "cuz" gave to me (thank you!) and fell in love with one of them. I wore it 3 times this week...haha! I'm also in search of a comfy pair of shoes that I can wear at work and outside of work. I think I went to almost every store in Ithaca a few weeks ago and didn't find anything. I guess I'll have to try some places outside of Ithaca. Exercise: Tom and I got to play tennis once this week; we've been wanting to do that for awhile. We aren't exactly what you would call pros, but we had fun. We made it all the way from A-Z and then through D again hitting it back and forth without stopping...like 5 minutes before we had to stop...haha! It was a nice way to be active! I've also been enjoying reading the book "Sacred Parenting" while doing the stair step machine at the gym. I love that book!
Looking forward to: Hopefully, starting another birthing class this week!
Something fun:We had a fun week! I got to go on a birthday date with one of my friends (her birthday). She is pregnant, too, so we had fun chatting about that! On Thursday night, we had a surprise birthday to attend for one of our other friends followed by ice cream with some of our friends that live out of town but were in town for a wedding this weekend. It was a nice evening of friends! On Friday, we got together with some of our vet school friends who have a 2.5 month old for a cookout and a game of Settlers of Catan (I love that game). Again, we had a lovely time!
FYI: Sorry for another late post. Work is a bit busy right now. Our students come back in a week and half. I was hoping to be able to take a break to post on Friday but wasn't.
Last Friday night, we got to try out one of the restaurants that we've been wanting to try for a LOOOONG time. I believe it is called Stella's Barn (sounds like a place we would like, huh?) Mom, Nate, Tom, and I all enjoyed it. We also enjoyed some ice cream afterward from our favorite local ice cream shop!
On Saturday, Mom, Nate, and I went to a place called The Windmill which is like a large Amish and local vendor farmer's market. It's just fun to walk around and look at everything. Then we went to Watkins Glen State Park. This place has around 19 waterfalls and about 800 steps to climb. We climbed all 800 and took lots of pictures! It was a perfect day to be outside!
Sunday, we finished cooking and baking, so now the freezer is quite full. It's awesome!
Mom and Nate left Monday morning. It was a great weekend!! Thank you, Lord, for: Lots of kicks and punches and movements. I don't really feel like I have to "count kicks" because our little girl moves around quite frequently (thankfully, this doesn't keep me up at night). I'm so grateful I know she's in there and ok. I'm also thankful that my mom and brother got to feel her move, too! She wasn't as active because I was more active that weekend, but they did get to feel or see her a couple of times!! So special!
