Size: We had a doctor appointment this week, and Ruth weighs 16 1/2 lb (66th percentile) and is 27 1/4 inches long (95th percentile).
New things: Ruth is officially "on solids"!! She's eating applesauce, pumpkin, and avocado!
Discovered two more teeth this week! They are her upper "fang" teeth (I should probably look up the proper term:)).
She's been making a "spitting" noise when she's eating solids. She doesn't actually spit the food out; it's just "spit"...interesting!
I think she reached up to me!! Maybe it was a fluke!?! Even so, we're getting closer!
Patting her legs!! We "pat, pat, pat" a lot!
Clapping with bracelets in her hand. She won't really do it with just her hands, but she'll do it with her bracelets...more noise?!?
Fun things: We got some boxes and started packing this week! Crazy!
Ruth has her 6 month doctor visit this week. She received a book and shots...not sure if the book is supposed to out way the shots or not. This was the first appointment I took her to where she wasn't in the carrier. She so enjoyed seeing everything and everyone. She also LOVED the crinkly paper that they put on the benches in the exam rooms. She had almost every section of it torn up by the time we saw the PA. Apparently, they see that a lot at the 6 month appointment:).
Ruth got to be babysat by some of our dear friends this week. She got to play the piano and go to the park. She also received a shoulder ride...too fun!!
Ruth and I babysat (aka had her over to play!) a little girl from church this week. Ruth quite enjoyed time with her friend (she loves children). We played with chalk and bubbles and enjoyed some time in the kitchen. We had a lovely time!
We focused on the letter "C" this week...cupcake party, cooking, clapping, cleaning the car, cow costume, etc.
Ruthie loves: Ruth LOVES to jump up and down!! None of our door frames are suitable for the Johnny Jump-Up, otherwise, we would so be getting that out! I put her in it once while holding it myself...that didn't last very long:).
Ruth LOVES reading her Bible. She gets super excited when I put it on our laps to read. She squeals and reaches and touches. It's so cute!
Ruth loves brushing her teeth HERSELF! In fact, this week, she would refuse to let me brush them by closing her mouth and turning her head around (wow, it starts young!). We make sure she let's "Mommy or Daddy do it first", then she is allowed to brush herself (which is more like chewing:)).
Ruth has been enjoying my version of Barney's "I love you" song. It's help keep her calm/entertained in the car!
Sleep: Still going aok! No schedule right now. Too many changes/events/etc. during this time in our lives.
Mom and Dad: We got to go on a date this week (it was for a vet school event, but still!). It was weird to not have a baby, but we sure enjoyed our time together (thank you to our dear friend who watched Ruth!). This was Tom's last week of his very time consuming rotation. We are ready to start seeing him more again! I had a little cupcake party this week! It was super fun (and yummy)! It's something I've wanted to do for awhile now. I'm grateful it worked out before we move.
Thank you, Lord, for: Making it through a busy month (due to Tom's schedule, no vehicle) and for the lessons learned through it and for growth.
