Week 22

Size: Ruthie had her "4 month" appointment this week (although, she was almost 5 months:)). She weighed 14 lb. 12 oz. (so we must have been wrong the time we weighed her at my in-law's). And if Tom and I's memories serve us correctly, she is 26.5 inches long. She's around the 50th percentile for her weight and in the 92 (I think) percentile for her height.

New things: Getting her socks off...she mainly gets them off in her "go-kart" (as her father calls it), but she gets them off in other places as well.
A bit of fit throwing (using her arms, legs, and her voice). Wasn't expecting that at 5 months.
Another tooth! She now has both of her bottom teeth. They aren't all the way in by any means, but they are both there.
Pulling her hair. She has discovered her hair, and occasionally, she'll pull it.
Trying tiny tastes of foods.
Ruth can finally spin the ball and reach the flower on her walker!! YAY! That was neat for me to see as that was not the case when we left just a few months ago.
Fun things: We got to go outside on a walk this week! Ruth LOVED it! She was quiet the whole time and just took in all the sites. It was so nice to get out and get some fresh air. It wasn't California weather, but it was sure nice.
Ruthie got to meet one of our dear friends from vet school for the first time this week. We had a great visit as we realized we hadn't seen each other in about 6 months!
It was so nice getting to see all of our friends at church again!! Ruthie quite enjoyed being back too...she loves the lights, the fans, the singing, and the people. She tried to pray and preach again which is cute but a little distracting, so she got to hang out in the nursery (which she also loves).
We had a fun Saturday while Tom was at a conference. We visited our landlord and his mom (loves little ones), ran a few errands (Ruth did SO well in the car), and visited some our dear friends from church (and enjoyed a lovely dinner with them as well). It was a nice day!
Ruthie loves: Tags!! I know they have blankets with lots of tags...I now can see why someone would have invented one of those. The flower on her walker has a tag on it, and she was trying to get it the other day but couldn't. I think she got a little frustrated. It's kind of cute.
Eating EVERYTHING...she tried eating the Bible the other night when we were reading it to her. She ate our landlord's shirt when he was holding her the other night. She LOVES eating things!!
REALLY eating things. We have been introducing different foods to her (she's not on solids yet). She's not biting yet...more just sucking, so we usually give her a few tastes of what we're eating. She LOVES it and kind of expects it now.
Social things. I've realized this week that she enjoys being around people and activity. I think she gets a little bored with just us at home...and rightly so especially after all she's experienced the last couple of months.
Sleep: Getting her to sleep has been inconsistent. She hasn't been going down too easy. Tom's had to walk her around or just hold her a few nights. She's been up quite a bit during the night, too. She's not back into her norm with naps either, but we're still trying to figure out what her new "norm" is. We plan to sleep train next week...can't wait!
Mom and Dad: Tom's back on rotations. We've been able to have some nice time at home as a family.
I've been trying to get Ruth back into the swing of things, so we've had a quiet week at home, for the most part.
We did get to meet up with our Honduras team for a potluck on Sunday. It was so nice to see everyone and catch up a bit!
Thank you, Lord, for: Our home!
